The Otto-Bennemann-Grant for methodologically innovative studies on
international textbook research 2013

The Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research awards once a year the OttoBennemann- Grant for promoting methodologically innovative textbook research. The monthly
grant rate is € 2,000. The grant is limited to a two-month stay. It is meant for research work in
Braunschweig; the grant holder is thus expected to spend the period covered by the grant at the
Georg Eckert Institute.
The applications are expected to meet high quality standards. The applicants shall point out
their methodological approach and the innovative aspects of their work, which has to be set into
the context of the discourse on textbook research. Furthermore, the application shall include:





detailed information on the subject of the study
information on the state of (preliminary) work and on the planned working schedule
information on the expected final result (monograph, post-doctoral thesis, etc.)
a curriculum vitae
a list of publications
The grant holder is requested to give a public lecture at the Georg Eckert Institute.
The Georg Eckert Institute will not automatically reimburse travel expenses. Nevertheless, a
travel allowance may be applied for and provided to persons in need and according to the funds
available. The allowance amounts to a maximum of 50 % of the travel expenses, but does not
exceed 500€.
The regulations attached to the standard scholarship program of the Georg Eckert Institute also
apply to the Bennemann Grant.
Research can be conducted at the GEI at any time during 2013. Successful candidates will be
notified by October 2012.
