WELCOME TO THE AUGUST EDITION REPORTED INCIDENTS DURING THE LAST MONTH 17/07/2015 - 16/08/2015 44150245120: THEFT: 17/07/2015 – Two Kayaks were stolen from Wootton beach. 44150245835: VEHICLE RELATED NUISANCE: 17/07/2015 – The Police received a report that two mini motors were driven around the woods just of East Hill Road in Ryde. Local officers are making further enquiries. 44150250455: THEFT: 21/07/2015 – A Mariner MAF4ML outboard motor was stolen from a boatyard in Yarmouth. 44150255823: THEFT: 25/07/2015 – A staddlestone top was stolen from a driveway on the outskirts of Carisbrooke. 44150255870: SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT: 25/07/2015 – We have received a report that someone had removed a gate from its hinges also turning an electric fence off. The horses did get out but luckily only into another field in the Chale area. 44150257138: THEFT: 26/07/2015 - We received another report that 3 Staddle stones tops were stolen from another property on the outskirts of Newport. 44150258681: WILDLIFE RELATED: 27/07/2015 - 3 peacocks were seen roaming around on Undercliff Road. A member of public was concerned that they might get run over. 44150261620: BURGLARY OTHER THAN IN A DWELLING: 30/07/2015 - A business on the Embankment in Bembridge was broken into and various items were taken. 44150262395: SUSPICIOUS OTHER: 30/07/2015 – A Country Watch member has reported that 3 horses have been let out from their secured field on the outskirts of Ryde. The horses did go onto the road, luckily the horses were not harmed. 44150263678: CRIMINAL DAMAGE: 31/07/2015 – A barbed wire fence to a cattle field was cut in 5 places by someone. Luckily none of the cattle got out as this could of caused an incident close to a holiday camp on the outskirts of Yaverland. REPORTED INCIDENTS CONT…. 44150265506: THEFT: 02/08/2015 – A quantity of vegetables have been stolen from private land in the Freshwater area. 44150267482: CRIMINAL DAMAGE: 03/08/2015: A damage report was taken from the National Trust who had problems due to the annual Fort walk at St Helens. 44150272670: THEFT: 07/08/2015: - A male has been seen to take vegetables from a private allotment without prior permission, again in the Freshwater area. 44150277221: BURGLARY OTHER THAN IN A DWELLING: 11/08/2015: - A stable on the outskirts of Ryde has been broken into. A saddle worth £700 has been stolen. Further investigations are still ongoing. There has been several reports of motor bikes been ridden around the area of Bembridge Fort. If you see anything please report it. During the last month we have received various calls and emails about unknown people opening various gates and letting out horses. These reports have been island wide. We encourage everybody to make sure that their gates are secured properly. We suggest that you reverse the hinges so it’s impossible to lift the gates off. We have seen on various social media sites that they are people talking about this. We would ask people to report any incidents to the Police using the numbers below.
