Marina Seniors - 2015 “End of Year”
Information Packet
Thursday – April 30


All School Payments – Beginning April 30, all transactions must be CASH or CREDIT CARD
ONLY
(no checks).
Fines – Fines incurred up through the end of Senior Year MUST be paid by May 11. Cash or Credit
Card only beginning April 30.
Wednesday – May 20

Golden Shield Awards - Huntington Beach High School, District Auditorium, 7 p.m. (Invitation only).
Wednesday May 20 & Thursday May 21


Senior Days – Seniors meet in the Gym at 9:00 a.m. for the mandatory senior assembly. Fun
Senior Activities all two days, plus Administration will meet with the seniors to discuss Graduation and
end-of-year procedures.
Graduation Tickets – Every graduating Senior will receive four (4) tickets. And extra tickets can be
requested. A request form for two (2) extra tickets will be distributed on Wednesday, May 20.
Please return the form on Thursday, May 21. Tickets will be distributed on Tuesday, June 9 in
the cafeteria along with cap & gown distribution. After Thursday, May 21, requests forms can be
dropped off in Room 301. Seating at Graduation is limited so turn in your form as soon as possible
because distribution is on a first come first served basis.
Tuesday – May 26
** Silent Auction Reserved Seating Bids **
The winning bids will have 1 bench reserved for them (one bench = 6 adults -must have
tickets already) and 2 reserved parking spots.
The silent bid for reserved seating at graduation will begin on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 and go until Tuesday,
June 2, 2015. The top ten winners will be contacted by Thursday, June 4
Payment will be due to the bookkeeper by the close of the day Monday, June 8, 2015.
Please remember - CASH only at this time.
Any winning bids not paid on that date will have to relinquish their opportunity and the next highest bidder will

IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to request a FINAL transcript, you MUST select “Next Grading
Period” when you place your order. If not, a 7th semester transcript will be sent

Make-up Finals
Senior Check-Out - All Seniors are to attend all classes
a. Go to attendance windows between 7:15 and 8:00 a.m. to pick-up Clearance check-out sheet
b. Textbook/Miscellaneous Clearance – Textbook Room/English Hallway
c. TEACHERS will sign clearance check-out sheet period-by-period on June 5. NOT BEFORE.
All fines must be paid before clearance can be completed
Clearance check-out sheet MUST be completed with all signatures by the end of the day. DO NOT lose
completed check-out sheet over the weekend! If you loose this sheet, you will have to repeat the
entire clearance process.
Senior Honors Night in the Gym (Invitation Only) – Arrive at 5:30 p.m.
Monday – June 8 SR CHECK-OUT MAKE-UP DAY

Make-up Finals & Senior check-out for those who missed on June 5.
Tuesday – June 9 SR CLEARANCE – CAP/GOWN & GRAD TICKET DISTRIBUTION
Cap/Gown and Graduation Ticket distribution is in the Student Cafeteria- 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Seniors must FIRST take their signed check-out sheet to the attendance windows to receive a stamp, thus
completing the check-out process. Students must turn in completed check-out sheet (with stamped approval) at
Cap/Gown pick up station in the cafeteria.

Reserving Graduation Tickets
 All graduates will receive four (4) tickets – Photo I.D. card is required when picking up tickets, cap
and gown.
 Students who need extra tickets may request an additional (2) two tickets, (form to be received May
20). Seating is limited, therefore distribution of extra tickets will be on a first come, first served basis.
 The request for extra tickets may be turned in beginning May 21 at the Senior Days. After May 21,
requests may be turned in at the Activities Office, Room 301. The actual tickets will be distributed at
the same time as cap and gown on Tues., June 9.
 Students needing more than a total of six (6) tickets can ask friends who may not need all of their
allotted tickets.
Wednesday – June 10



Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal will be held in the Bowl at 9:00 a.m. You must attend rehearsal to
participate in the graduation ceremony.
Grad Night T-shirt Distribution – The Grad Night Committee will hand out shirts to everyone who
purchased a Grad Night ticket after the rehearsal.
Senior Sunset at a location at the beach to be announced.
Thursday - June 11
Graduation in the Bowl – 4:00 p.m.

GRADUATION DAY
Seniors are NOT allowed on campus during the school day
1. Seniors report to the tennis courts carrying cap and gown at 3:00 p.m. Entrance to the courts must be
along either side of the school, NOT through the front admission gates. Please, do not bring any items that need to be
carried with you.
2. Parents, friends or family are NOT allowed in the tennis court area.
3. Graduation Ceremony - 4 p.m. - Bowl
4. Grad Night party (all night party) June 11 at 9:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. June 12 at Marina.
Parents and Guests of Graduates:


Leis, corsages or anything decorative will not be permitted on graduate’s caps and gowns during the ceremony.
Balloons and signs block the view of the stage and are NOT allowed. Anyone bringing balloons or signs will be
asked to return them to their car until after the ceremony is over.
Graduation Instructions:
You are the 50th Graduating Class of Marina High School. Your graduation ceremony is very important to you, your
parents and staff of Marina High School. The ceremony should reflect this occasion.

Dress: Boys - White or light shirt, tie, dark slacks, dark shoes and dark socks. No flip-flop shoes.
Dress: Girls - Light colored dress (dark colors will show through gown) No flip-flop shoes.
Do not bring ANYTHING with you except ID, keys and cell phone:
 No gum, cameras, purses, corsages, flowers, balloons, leis or sunglasses. (MHS will not be
responsible for any of these confiscated items).
 No decorations on caps/gowns.
 No Flowers of any kind during the ceremony.
Graduation Ceremony - only guests with tickets will be admitted. Guests will not be seated during the processional.
A professional photography company, Grad Images, will offer a photo package to every graduate participating in the
ceremony. Information on this service will be distributed at Senior Days, May 20. Photographs are not to be taken
from the aisle during any portion of the ceremony as it disrupts the commencement program. Please instruct your guests
that this is a serious and solemn occasion and that you would appreciate their cooperation in this regard.
Applause and outbursts of noise for an individual make it impossible to hear the next name. Every parent should be
afforded the opportunity to hear his or her student’s name as it is read.
Diploma delivery . . . will take place immediately after the graduation ceremony at the attendance windows.
Grad Night - All Night Party . . . At Marina High School - 9:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. NO admittance after 11:00 pm
Diploma . . . Seniors who do not participate in graduation may pick up their diploma from the Registrar, Ms. Tubbs,
beginning Tuesday, June 16 - 10:00 a.m. to Noon / 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. You must show current photo ID.
