The program blends classroom learning with field practice. It starts with an initial five-day face-to-face group development experience, leading into a three-month period focused on action learning and development in practice. Program content is customized to emphasize both CARE’s principled, values-centered approach to leadership, and the skills required to maximize the impact of its leaders. The priority skill areas as identified by CARE’s aggregate 360 data are: Adapting management style; Coaching; Giving feedback; Resolving differences. The program provides participants with an opportunity to learn the steps for demonstrating these skills, see them modeled by the instructors, and practice applying the skills in small working groups. Participants also have the opportunity to receive a second round of 360 degree feedback which will enable them to track progress over time. This experiential workshop helps staff discover the depth and richness of our diverse organization. You’ll explore how our differences and similarities impact our organizational life; learn skills to function effectively in a diverse and complex workplace, practice personal and collective responsibility for furthering our organizational learning. This is a required program for all CARE staff. The program focuses on deciding on who should be involved in making decisions and how to involve them, designing meetings, project plans and change strategies with concrete milestones and accountabilities and learning about the three dimensions of success: Results, Process and Relationships. The goal of the program is to provide global managers with the crucial people management skills required to advance the organization’s change agenda, and to support individual’s development aspirations. The curriculum will address three tiers of skills, Fundamental Skills (Managing Self, Managing Others, Managing Groups), Intermediate Skills (Managing Conflict and Building Teams), and Strategic Skills (Fostering Innovation & Creativity, Managing Change and Analytical Thinking). The module contains tools and guidelines for completing a condensed, rapid assessment of the environment, people and immediate needs Target Audience: All staff involved in Emergency Relief actions Dates: Self-paced; available FY Round Investment: Tuition and Admin fee $ 10 per participant The Report Writing Workshop in English (e-learning) The program covers the essentials for writing reports in English (especially to donors). Participants receive intensive one-on-one coaching and feedback on their writing, using current documents they are working on. This course will be piloted as an on-line, virtual classroom with an instructor, followed up with on-going learner feedback over several weeks. Participants need to have access to the internet and e-mail, and be committed to working on their writing skills- in English.
