Stephen Duffy, Local Association Board Chair and National Adult Representative. Stephen Duffy, Birmingham Adult Dyslexic Group (badg), was returned unopposed to the Local Association Board (L.A.B.) in 2012, has served his first 3-year term and was elected chair in 2013. L.A.B. roles have never been shown as vacancies after the first term. We do not know why there is a change. Stephen campaigns for: • The B.D.A. to consult dyslexic people. • B.D.A. Support of L.D.A.s. • Publicity for the Equality and Human Rights Commission guidelines. He welcomes the Addendum to the B.D.A. Accessible Formats Policy. • Information from all ources in audio format on CDs with hard copy, for dyslexic people who want it. • Libraries to provide facilities for the every-day needs of print-impaired people. Stephen is severely dyslexic, profoundly deaf, and print-impaired. I am Stephen's voluntary support worker, and he is away at present. In order to participate in L.A.B. meetings, Stephen needs a hearing loop, and documents, in audio and hard copy, in advance of meetings. The B.D.A. exists to enable dyslexic people to reach their potential. Please enable Stephen to serve his second term of 3 years, and to continue as L.A.B. chair. Jean Hutchins, President S.E.
