Eligibility to attend the FREE BreastScreen
Queensland Program for a screening mammogram
 women without signs or symptoms of breast cancer
 women aged 50 - 69 years are the target group for the
program
 women aged 40 - 49 years and women over 70 years
are also eligible to attend
 eligible women are screened every two years

The BreastScreen Queensland Program is directed
at women with no signs or symptoms of breast
cancer. If a BreastScreen Queensland patient
presents with symptoms, please either:
a) Phone the Nurse Counsellor or Medical Director
at the BreastScreen Queensland Service (contact
details inside cover), or
b)Refer patient to a diagnostic service or public
hospital.
(GPs are encouraged to discuss with their patients the
option of joining or returning to the free BreastScreen
Queensland Program, if appropriate)
