Position Description: VET Program Consultant T/SME3 Position Title VET Program Consultant Position Number 32030 Purpose of the Role The VET Program Consultant role is responsible for: Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities Key Relationships Developing and maintaining the training and assessment strategies for all VET programs Managing PIEF’s trainers and assessors The quality assurance process for updating and maintaining course materials and assessments, including desktop publishing Government funding applications and administration Developing training and assessment strategies for all VET programs in consultation with the VET Program Manager Managing the trainer and assessors, including induction and regular contact meetings and ensuring that they have the mandatory qualifications Establishing and facilitating an online forum for trainers and assessors Producing a quarterly online newsletter for trainers and assessors Setting up a validation schedule for assessments of each qualification Collecting necessary reporting data requirements or ASQA and NVCER Maintaining and updating the Policy & Procedures manual in consultation with the VET Training & Compliance Officer Coordinating RTO management meetings Desktop publishing of the all VET program materials Producing regular reports on learner satisfaction for all qualifications Keeping the improvement register up to date including identifying opportunities for improvement in the quality of the learning resources and assessments Maintaining a library of resources including version control Assisting the Program Development & Client Relationship Manager in preparing applications for government funding VET Program Manager, PIEF Executive Director, PIEF PIEF staff members PIEF training facilitators PIEF students PIEF clients. Position Description: VET Program Consultant T/SME3 Competencies & Behaviours Essential Skills, Education levels & Experience Facilitates outcomes Information gathering Driving improvement outcomes Tactical and analytical thinking Stakeholder support and service Working in a team Conceptual thinking Contributing expertise Mandatory Knowledge of VET FEE HELP and exposure to state and/or federal funding reporting and compliance A strong background in and high level understanding of RTO operations Previous experience and demonstrated ability to adhere to, and improve strategies to meet NVR standards, and ASQA and AQF requirements Demonstrated experience in the development and review of training resources to relevant standards Demonstrated experience in instructional design and principles of adult learning Strong administration, organisational and prioritising skills A high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all communication The ability to work under pressure whilst meeting strict deadlines Demonstrated ability to identify and apply best process and appropriate business solutions and develop recommendations accordingly Demonstrated interpersonal and customer relations skills to determine and respond to customer requests Well-developed knowledge of teamwork principles, with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Proficiency in information technology including the Microsoft Office suite of programs and various software packages as required Proficiency in using a Learning Management System and/or VETTrak Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Desirable Experience with e-learning creation software, ideally Articulate Storyline Successful track record in creating engaging and innovative online content Additional requirements The position may involve a degree of interstate travel Position parameters Some weekend and ‘after hours’ work may be required
