Kennesaw State University Center for Regional History & Culture The mission of the Center for Regional History & Culture is to promote a deeper understanding of the Northwest Georgia region among area residents. It carries out that mission by conducting and encouraging research on the history and culture of Northwest Georgia; providing public lectures, conferences, and outreach programs; and serving as a resource for area teachers. Advisory Board Member An advisory board member of the KSU Center for Regional History & Culture serves in a volunteer capacity, providing leadership and oversight of strategic planning, marketing/publicity and fundraising. Specific Responsibilities: Be informed about the Center’s mission, services, policies and programs and serve as an advocate in the community. Share expertise and ideas, especially in strategic thinking and planning designed to carry out the Center’s mission and to position the Center to seek external support. Exercise influence and connections to help with securing private funding. Help identify, cultivate and solicit gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, and organizations. Make a financial commitment commensurate with personal capability. Keep up-to-date on developments in the field and share this knowledge in helping to strategize funding initiatives.
