Americans were small because they didn’t have a lot of men unlike the British. One of the wars took place on Breeds Hill. That battle was called the Battle of Bunker Hill. Strange thing that they didn’t call it Battle of Breeds Hill. The Battle of Bunker Hill was a very important situation. It also had many important events like the patriot troops bypassed through Bunker Hill and they fortified Breeds Hill. There were also many famous people that were in the war, like George Washington, William Prescott, and General Thomas Gage. Still with all of the confusion This is a picture of the British troops going on all of this had to do with the Battle of Bunker Hill. marching on Breeds Hill. “You and I were long friends: you are my enemy, and I am yours.” Benjamin Franklin Why Couldn’t Women Fight In the Revolutionary War women were not able to fight. Who knows why? There were very many women in the Revolutionary War. They were back at the tents getting water from the wells, and making food. There are some women that are married to the some of the men in the war. Like Mrs. Benedict Arnold and Abigail Adams. There were also just women from the American side that just helped. They may not have even known those men. Like Molly Pitcher, Molly McCauley, Anna Smith, Catherine Moore Barry, Margaret Corbird, Nancy Hart, and Rebecca Motte. All of the women just gave up their own sake and said, “I am going to help the men that are at war.” Did they have a choice, yes? If they wanted they wanted to help them did they, yes? But they were still ordinary women. What Did the Soldiers Wear? The Revolutionary War soldiers wore uniforms that are very unique. The British for instance were called, the Red Coats. They wore red coats that were red. They were very thick and heavy. For example, if it rained their coats would get so heavy it would weigh about thirty pounds. The Americans just were ordinary; they wore their plain, old, dirty clothes. If any men had fancy nice uniforms, definitely, ya they would wear their uniforms. The Americans were in luck if they wore their ordinary clothes, because you couldn’t really see them when they hide in the trees or in the bushes or even just hiding behind a bush or tree. Unlike the British, they stuck out like a humongous sore thumb with their red coats, because they marched in a big long line. But all of their uniforms even their ordinary clothes they were still unique. George Washington Goes to History This is a picture of George Washington putting his arm out to his desk and is holding the sword of surrender. George Washington was a very loyal man. Most of the Americans trusted George Washington. They all thought that he was a man that they could depend on as their Revolutionary War Leader. He became their leader, and was a good one too. He served them right and was able to be their leader for almost the whole war. George Washington was not just their leader he was their chief. He served his men the right way that a chief should. George Washington was born in the year of 1775 in February on the twenty-second. He became an official president in the year of 1789-1797. He gave everyone a strong uniting force for the new nation. George treated his troops with respect and he had a lot of responsibility. He served to whole country with respect. The people in the country missed him very much with his death on the fourteenth of December, in the year of 1799. George Washington was only sixty-seven a very young man to have death.
