BOARD OF APPEALS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2012, 7:00 PM
Meeting was called to order by Clerk Jenny Ehlenfeldt.
Roll call: Ron Schutz, Jane Walczak, Donnie Blank and Dan Jacquart; absent – Chair

Citizens: Marsha Przybylla, Stephen and Jennifer LaValla
Motion by Schutz, second by Jacquardt to designate Walczak as Chair of the meeting. All
yes, motion carried.
Home owner Marsha Przybylla presented her request for a 12’ front yard variance to
build a screened in porch on her current deck. Letters were read from one neighbor with
no objections and one with objections. Neighboring property owner Marie Drescher
objected to making allowances to any zoning ordinances. Motion Schutz, second Blank to
grant Przybylla a 12’ front yard variance for construction of a screen porch. Board
discussed the porch dimensions and the variance request. Roll call: Schutz – yes,
Jacquart – yes, Blank – yes. All yes. Motion carried.
The Board discussed the application for conditional use permit for off street parking of a
commercial vehicle requested by Gary Meyer. Board noted this zoning regulation needs
to be enforced by the City and permits should be required for all commercial vehicles
parked in the City, not just some. Lavallas spoke in favor of the permit as long as Meyer
was aware the permit was for parking off the street and that the vehicle would not be
running during night-time hours. A letter was read from a representative of neighboring
property owner Jeannie Krahn stating that the parking of commercial vehicles by their
land would make it harder for them to sell the property. Board discussed the parking.
Motion Schutz, second Blank to approve the conditional use permit for off street parking
of a commercial vehicle for Gary Meyer. Roll Call: Schutz – yes, Jacquart – yes, Blank –
yes. All yes, Motion Carried.
Motion Schutz, second Jacquart to adjourn meeting. Meeting was adjourned at 7:35 pm.
