GEOMATECH - supported by modern software GeoGebra, the Revised National Curriculum fitting mathematical and scientific development of teaching material and training of trainers - in Hungary Ildikó Anna Pomuczné Nagy Faculty of Teacher Training College, Kecskemét College/Hungary Trainer in the project GeoMatech nagyildikoanna@freeamail.hu Abstract In my presentation I would like to introduce the GEOMATECH education development project and I would like to share my experiences as a trainer. The project, in which I work as a trainer, was launched in January 2014 in Hungary. Its aim is that students in public education should come to like maths and science subjects, become more motivated and could experience success in learning. They should be encouraged to take up a career in the field of science. During the training we introduce the digital curriculum units created under the project, we teach the use of GeoGebra software, as well as advanced methodologies, such as Web 2.0 tools and classroom solutions to support teamwork. We are modelling the relationship between mathematics and art on the computer, and we realize some ideas for the computer by manual activities as well. After the presentation of the project, I will summarize my experiences gained from the training of my students at college and teacher training. I will compare traditional mathematics teaching and learning with the opportunities offered by the project, particularly with regard to its impacts on problem-solving skills development.
