J. .L. Ozburn was a lifelong resident of Monticello, Georgia. His parents were the late Emory Ozburn and Ella Gladys Hodge Ozburn. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Before retirement, J.L. Ozburn was a Mechanic for Southern Railroad. Wife, Odessa Conner Ozburn preceded him in death. Also, brothers, Edwin Ozburn and Melvin Ozburn preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Larry Fielding of Monticello; granddaughter, Ashley Fielding of Monticello; brother and sister, Lanier Ozburn of Monticello and Eloise Riner of Atlanta; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 14, 2011, at the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial will follow in West View Cemetery in Monticello. Dr. John Brown will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
