The Course Content
These comprehensive courses provide an introduction to Jolly Phonics, the UK’s leading literacy programme.
Taking place over 2 days, the courses have been designed to show how Jolly Phonics progresses with
grammar, spelling and punctuation in school.
The first training day focuses on the initial reading and writing teaching with synthetic phonics, while the
second ay explains how to extend the teaching with multi-sensory grammar, spelling and punctuation lessons.
Discover the 5 key skills of Jolly Phonics: letter sounds, letter formation, blending for reading,
segmenting for writing and tricky words
Find out about teaching key grammar concepts such as nouns, verbs and parsing
Improve spelling and teaching of new spelling patterns

Jolly Phonics Trainer Coral George
Coral qualified as a teacher in Britain, starting her career in England followed by
some time in Egypt, before joining the Spanish Ministry of Education/British
Council/Bilingual Project in 1998. While teaching infants,
Coral used Jolly Phonics and was amazed at the children’s interest
and progress, and the high standards of literacy she achieved. She subsequently
founded ‘Jolly Centres’ in Spain, where children, parents and teachers now enjoy
her lively training. Coral also collaborates with various Universities. As a Jolly
Ambassador, she works closely with Education Inspectors and Local Authorities.
She currently works with her team of trainers to deliver synthetic phonics training
all over the world.
