Brickman-Broyles – January 1, 1941 Brickman-Broyles Engagement Announced Mr. and Mrs. Ben Brickman announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Esta Belle, to Mr. Floyd Broyles of Denver, Colo. The wedding date is set for New Years Day, January 1, 1941. Brickman-Broyles Vows Are Taken In Beautiful Cerremony In an attractive home wedding Miss Esta Belle Brickman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Brickman, became the bride of Mr. Floyd E. Broyles, son of Mrs. O. O. Davis of Denver, Colorado, at noon on New Year’s. Rev. L. T. Knotter of the Presbyterian church officiated using the double ring ceremony. The vows were exchanged before a large window which was framed with trellises of greenery and winter blossoms. The trellises were topped by large wedding bells which furnished the decorative motif in other decorations. The couple was attended by Miss Eddith Jackel, cousin of the bride, and Mr. Leroy Broyles, brother of the groom. The bride, who entered the room alone, wore the traditional white satin, fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and long pointed sleeves and train. Her only jewel was a necklace which had been worn by her mother on her wedding day. She carried an arm bouquet of American Beauty roses. Her veil was full length of white illusion, falling from a seed pearl coronet with orange blossom clusters at the side. It was bordered with deep lace and large medallions at the bottom fell over the satin train. Miss Jaekel wore an aqua blue gown, floor length with high neckline and puffed short sleeves. Her flowers were an arm bouquet of pink roses. Little Miss Willa Jean Sargent, train bearer, was dressed in a short frock of blue net trimmed with pink velvet bows. Mrs. Brickman, mother of the bride, was dressed in a dinner gown of maroon satin and wore a corsage of yellow roses. Mrs. Davis, mother of the groom, wore a white moiré taffeta dinner gown with a corsage of yellow roses. Preceding the ceremony Mrs. Marion Monfort played two numbers, Rubenstein’s “Angel’s Serenade” and “Romance” by LaForge. Miss Felicia Monfort sang “If God Left Only You.” By Densmore, and “I Love You Truly.” She was accompanied by Mrs. Monfort. For the processional Mrs. Monfort played Mendelssohnn’s wedding march and other selections during the reception. Mrs. Broyles received her education in local schools except for a year in the Conservatory of Music in St. Louis. She holds a teacher’s certificate in the progressive Series from the conservatory. Mr. Broyles is a printer in Denver. Following the wedding a reception was held for the wedding party. The table was covered with a deep cream lace cloth and pink and white carnations in attractive bouquets were used. The large three-tiered wedding cake, topped by a miniature bride and groom was cut by the bride and distributed to the guests. Guests at the wedding and reception included Mr. and Mrs. O. O. Davis, Denver, Colo.; Dr. and Mrs. W. E. Simon, Mrs. Elizabeth Burchett, Mrs. Earl Marsh, Mrs. Fred Gatz, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Beltz, and family. Mrs. Katie Brickman, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Siebenlist. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Eichman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Jaekel, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Brickman, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Cline, Mrs. Alice Sargent, Mrs. Theresa Nilson, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Roberts, Miss Paulagene Finch, Reverend and Mrs. L. T. Knotter. Following the reception, Mr. and Mrs. Broyles left immediately for Denver where they will make their home. For her going away gown, Mrs. Broyles wore deep blue velvet with black accessories.
