Greek Fair - 1 Paragraph Rational Example
Directions Part I: First, look at your research essay and pull your thesis, all topic sentences, and
thesis restated together to make one VERY CHOPPY paragraph.
A museum would be best if it had an exhibit of the ancient Greek Olympics (Thesis). The
Olympic games took place in Olympia (Topic Sentence 1). Rules and requirements were enforced at
the Olympics (Topic Sentence 2). Olympic athletes were famous throughout all of Greece and were
awarded with many prizes (Topic Sentence 3). Many of the Olympic events were unusual (Topic
Sentence 4). The end of the Olympic games caused a lot of hardship (Topic Sentence 5). Changes
were made over the years to the Olympics (Topic Sentence 6). Ancient Greek Olympics would be the
best exhibit in Mrs. Howard’s museum (Thesis Restated).
Directions Part II: Then take your topic sentences and add / rearrange words to address the reader
(museum curator) of what your exhibit is all about.
A museum would be best if it had an exhibit of the ancient Greek Olympics. The guests would
be able to learn that the first Olympic games took place in Olympia. The rules and requirement of the
Olympics were enforced as they are today. Besides learning about the rules, the museum visitors
would learn all about how athletes were famous and the many prizes they were awarded. Visitors will
enjoy watching the unusual events being acted out at a special room of the museum. The banning of
the games caused a lot of hardship, and guests will find this very interesting. Even after the banning
many changes were made to the ancient games, and the visitors will appreciate learning about these
changes. Ancient Greek Olympics would be the best exhibit in Mrs. Howards’ museum.
