Research grants ranging from €2,000 to €7,000 can be applied for, depending on the
cost and duration of the research. The grants can cover travel and living expenses, as
well as the costs for communication, research materials, fees (including third parties
fees, e.g. interpreters), and per diem allowances.

This year’s call for applications is limited to research projects for preparing online and
printed publications in the fields of economics and politics.
Please include the following documents with your application form (in German or
English):
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae in tabular form for the applicant and any additional
participants
- Detailed information about the planned research (1-3 pages):
Research plan: project outline, central questions to be addressed by the research,
course of action (including itinerary and duration), research objective, schedule,
and if necessary, information about transnational cooperation with other journalists;
statement of need describing why you are applying for a research grant from the
Robert Bosch Stiftung for this project (and why it is not being financed by your
media organization, for example)
- Written statement of intent from the editor of a well known media source to
publish the research subject matter (for a transnational cooperation, a written
statement of intent for publication from a second country is desired)
- Short profile of the printed media or the website for which the publication is
intended (only for publications outside of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland)
- Three relevant work samples (if not available in German or English, then include
a short summary in German or English)
- Cost and financing plan (see the attached document) including information
regarding personal and, if applicable, third-party funds, as well as the amount
applied for from the Robert Bosch Stiftung
