The Bishop of Huntingdon’s Office 14 Lynn Road Ely CB6 1DA bishop.huntingdon@ely.anglican.org 29th March 2012 Dear Cambridge Conversation Colleagues, We are now making active plans for a follow-up Seminar and Action Day to be held on Saturday 23rd June at Emmanuel College, Cambridge (thanks once again to the kindness of the Master and Fellows). This letter is to invite you to book a place now for yourself or your nominee. There will be a charge of £20 per delegate, payable on the day, so that the event is self-supporting as far as its direct costs are concerned (this will include lunch). We would welcome additional sponsorship to help with our wider development costs. (Please contact us directly if you are interested in helping in this way.) The feedback from our first day was that its open-ended, bottom-up conversations and networking were greatly appreciated, with very strong indications of a desire to continue with the process – but also that at further meetings like this we should transition purposefully towards more focussed conversation and action to make a tangible positive impact. The provisional agenda for the day is therefore as follows: 9.30am 10.00am 11.30am 11.45am 12.45pm 2.00pm Registration and refreshments Seminars on the six themes or others which receive strong prior support, leading to a wish list of what is needed (e.g. information, contacts, resources, publicity, policy) to achieve the chosen outcome/s. Break Brainstorming in Lecture Theatre. (In this session wish lists will be shared on a large screen to enable brainstorming of likely sources of the requirements.) Lunch and networking in the Old Library Depart We are delighted to have recruited Ed Cearns of Cearns & Co to be our co-ordinator for this event. Bishop David’s office will continue to be the point of contact and handle the admin. Finally, a reminder that the website is up and running at http://www.camconv.co.uk, with a parallel blog at http://camconv.wordpress.com. Some early outputs are the new Ely Cathedral Business Group, a collaboration with Cambridge 2030, and a Climate Conversation is on the drawing board too. Watch out for Twitter and Facebook. Yours sincerely, THE CAMBRIDGE CONVERSATIONS SEMINAR AND ACTION DAY Saturday 23rd June Emmanuel College Cambridge BOOKING FORM Please reserve me a place on the Seminar and Action Day.
