1920s UNIT PROJECT- PART I
A
GROUP WORK (20 points)
As a group you will create a collage from the key significant names, ideas and events below.
Your collage must reflect the dichotomy of the normalcy and traditionalism with the modernity
and exuberance of the time period. There are several creative ways to portray these seemingly
conflicting themes of the era. For example, you may want to show one of the collage as
traditional and the other as modern. You may want to use black and white images for traditional
themes and color images for modern ideas.
Choose at least 12 of these fundamental themes/ideas/events/people and use words or images to
represent them on your collage. You must use at least two from each of the 6 thematic categories.
Your group should present its collage on a shape/image that it best feels represents a significant
event, person or idea of the 1920s.
INDIVIDUAL WORK (30 points)
Each group member must answer 5 of the 6 questions associated with each category. These
questions address essential ideas of the era. You must answer each question thoroughly and it
needs to be word processed (i.e. typed). Although you may work together, you may not copy or
have the same answers as others.
