Genera Group business results for the period I-IX 2009
EBIT has increased by 116% compared to the previous year
Kalinovica, October 21st 2009 – GENERA d.d. (ZSE: VERN-R-A) On the Supervisory Board session held on
October 21st 2009., the Supervisory Board has unanimously adopted the financial statements for the period of
January to September 2009.
Total consolidated income for the period from January to September 2009 increased by 3% compared to the
previous year and was over HRK 148 million. Consolidated gross profit was HRK 74.2 million, which is an
increase by 41% in comparison to the same period last year, while operating profit in the amount of HRK 9.8
million represents an increase by as much as 116% when compared to the same period in 2008. Net profit
amounted to HRK 5.6 million, which is an increase by 52% in comparison with the previous year. In addition to
the increase in income, efficient cost management (reduction of the costs of goods sold by 18% as well as
reduction of sales and distribution costs by as much as 10% in comparison to the same period in 2008) had
the highest impact on a significant increase in the profitability indicators.
All of the above indicators indicate that the effects of restructuring carried out at the end of 2008 and all
undertaken activities aimed at increasing the efficiency of operations as well as the rationalisation of costs had
a significant positive impact on the financial result of Genera Group in the period from January to September
2009.
