Press release ARBURG demonstrates production efficiency at the Feiplastic 2013 Electric: Edrive series for Technical injection moulding Specific: hybrid Allrounder H with IML application for the packaging industry Efficient: specific automation solutions Lossburg. At the Feiplastic, which takes place in São Paulo from 20 to 24 May 2013, Arburg will present two machines – a hybrid Allrounder Hidrive H and an electric Allrounder Edrive which, on the one hand, satisfy the requirements of the Brazilian and South American market. On the other hand, the two exhibits on Stand no. H28 are a model of production efficiency, the topic on which Arburg is focussing worldwide. The electric Edrive machine excels through its attractive price/performance ratio, and can be seen as an automation solution. The applications demonstrated here also correspond to the requirements of the region: the hybrid Allrounder 570 H will produce high-quality IML lids for the packaging industry. South American processors are interested in both increased automation of injection moulding sequences File: 116106782 Date: 27.02.2013 Characters: 3,800 Words: 574 ARBURG GmbH + Co KG Press office Susanne Palm Postfach 1109 72286 Lossburg, Germany Tel.: +49 (0) 7446 33-3463 Fax: +49 (0) 7446 33-3413 presse_service@arburg.com This and other press releases are available for download from our website at http://www.arburg.com/ press and in electric machines with a coherent price/performance ratio. Not only large, international companies in South America but also national manufacturers are increasingly turning towards this kind of electric machine technology. The packaging sector is also enjoying a boom in this region. Arburg has put together its programme for the Feiplastic in response to these demands. Entry into electric machine technology and automated production The electric Edrive series is characterised by precision, reproducibility, energy efficiency and minimised emissions. Due to its excellent price/performance ratio, the Allrounder Edrive is an interesting alternative to hydraulic machine technology, and enables economical entry into the world of Arburg electric machines. At the exhibition, an Allrounder 520 E with a clamping force of 1,500 kN and a size 400 injection unit will injection mould stackable CD trays with a single-cavity mould. Parts are removed and set down by a Multilift Select robotic system, which has a fixed configuration adapted to the machine size, making it an impressively cost-effective purchase. This production cell, of which the entire peripheral equipment is integrated in the Selogica machine control system, is an excellent example of costeffective entry into the automated production of moulded parts using electric machine technology. This exhibit also features the Selogica "Set-up Assistant” module, which allows menu-guided, simple, fast and reliable set-up of Allrounder machines – from mould installation to the finished sequence. Detailed knowledge of the control system is not necessary. The Set-up Page 2 of 5 Assistant helps you to reduce downtimes and increase production efficiency. Allrounder 570 H produces IML lids The second exhibit belongs to the hybrid Hidrive series, which is outstanding for its high productivity, short cycle times and high energy efficiency, and is therefore predestined for packaging applications. The speed and precision associated with electric technology are combined with hydraulic power and dynamics for high production performance. All Allrounder H machines bear the Arburg "e²" energy efficiency label as an indication of energy-optimised operation. The hybrid Allrounder 570 H exhibited at the Feiplastic has a clamping force of 2,000 kN and size 800 injection unit. It produces tub lids using the in-mould labelling process, in a cycle time of five seconds. The moulded part weight is 6.1 grams per lid, and the material throughput is around 26 kilograms per hour. The use of transparent material and a film printed on both sides from Verstraete endows the lids with a decorative surface both inside and out. The 6-cavity mould comes from RK Ferramentaria, the robotic system for feeding the labels and removing parts from OK! Automation – both qualified suppliers from Brazil. The advantage here is that Arburg can quickly provide local customers with competent services and assistance in achieving their ideal system.
