Hair Brazil 2011 recorded a larger, more qualified and very international audience

The hair and beauty care fair held in São Paulo stands as one of the most dynamic in the world and operates as a gateway to business in the Brazilian and Latin American markets

It was not only in number of visits that the 10 th HAIR BRASIL - International Beauty, Hair and Esthetics Fair showed a significant growth. The profile of the visitors proved to be more and more highly qualified and the international participation has nearly doubled in 2011.

HAIR BRASIL, the largest and most important beauty care fair of Latin America, was held in the city of São

Paulo from April 2 to 5, and hosted 80,000 professional visits, 11% more than last year.

There were 41,300 unique visitors, representing all categories of the beauty care market. The number of enterprises also increased: 34,600 companies were recorded (12% more than in 2010), a fact that generated good business activity for the 800 exhibiting brands.

Professionals from all over Brazil attended the fair, especially from the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Bahia.

The specialization of the event in the areas of hair care and esthetics was confirmed, once again, by profile of the public of this edition: 51% of the visitors were hairdressers, directors and managers of beauty salons and hair clinics. As for the area of esthetics, it accounted for 12% of the visits, attracting estheticians, directors of esthetics clinics, and spas.

The specialized retail (perfume shops, cosmetic stores, distributors, pharmacies and supermarkets) also grew in number of visitors. 63% more retailers/perfume shops were recorded; 11% more supermarket/hypermarket buyers and 58% more importers of hair care and beauty care products.

"The figures of this edition show that we are very focused on our goals, delivering actual results to exhibitors and visitors."

INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE STANDS OUT

Another fact that reveals a fully fledged HAIR BRASIL is the growth of international participation from both exhibitors and visitors.

increased 45% in this edition. There were 54 companies from the United States, Italy, France, Spain, Korea,

Pakistan, Mauritius Islands, Turkey, China, Argentina, Chile and Peru that brought to the beauty care and salon professionals a new range of products and services.

"We are anticipating an even greater internationalization of HAIR BRASIL in the forthcoming years, as the size of the Brazilian market and its consumption potential are a strong attraction for international companies. The fact that the beauty care market in Brazil is recording an average growth of 12%/year, in a process that is already lasting for almost a decade, greatly fosters the business interest. Moreover, our country is
