HAIR BRASIL 2014 welcomes 94,000 professionals to close business and check out new developments in the hair, esthetics, nails and makeup sectors Business, rollouts and corridors filled to capacity marked the 13th edition of HAIR BRASIL – the International Beautycare, Hair and Esthetics Fair – which ended on April 15 in São Paulo. The event registered 94,000 professional visitors, including 46,000 one-off visitors, especially managers and professionals of beauty parlors, esthetics clinics and other beautycare establishments from all over Brazil and 26 other countries, with a special mention for Peru, Chile, Argentina, the United States, Paraguay, France, Mexico and Venezuela. The successful turnout was obvious from the full stands and the post-fair optimism of the exhibitors. "We set up 40 new distributors at the fair and recorded an increase of 200% in sales. At our first HAIR BRASIL we had a 57m²-stand; today, it’s almost 200m². We closed business with a customer in the United States and received visits from buyers from Chile, Colombia and Russia", said the CEO of Sweet Hair Professional, Paulo Kazaks. “Compared with the 2013 edition, the number of business deals rose by almost 40%. People are not here to sightsee, but to do business. We received visits from Brazilian buyers, but also from Dubai, Mexico and France, which improves our chances of exporting our products and disclosing our brand internationally", said the director of Perfect Nails, Rodrigo Escaim. Considered the largest professional beautycare event in Latin America, the fair revolves around industry rollouts and showcases new hair, beautycare, esthetics, make-up and manicure products of 950 brands in the sector. Charged with taking business deals forward in the next six months following the event HAIR BRASIL, in the opinion of Francisco Santos, president and entrepreneur of the Couromoda/São Paulo Feiras Comerciais Group that runs the event, is responsible for 30% of the volume of purchases by beauty parlors and esthetics clinics in the next six months. "The business closed at this edition reflects the excellent moment being experienced by the Brazilian beautycare industry, with growth close to 10%", he added. The new departure at this edition was the creation of exclusive areas for the make-up and nails sectors, which accounted for 11% of the visitors to the fair. The new areas meet the demand from exhibitors and the visitors themselves, anxious to see all new product launches by the market in one place. Professional Development The high point of HAIR BRASIL is the BEAUTYCARE FORUM, which every year hosts around 17,000 people seeking technical qualification and professional preparation. This year there were 150 events running simultaneously with the fair, including fashion and beauty shows, seminars, congresses, workshops and free lectures. In its second edition, the ICONS & LEADERS project also provided information and shared with the audience the successful experiences of five important Brazilian and international hair stylists. In a debate mediated by journalist and presenter Mônica WaldvogelI, Eron Araújo (Blend your Mind, São Paulo), Jacques Goossens (Jacques Janine, São Paulo), Nino Altobelli (Rocco Altobelli Salons and Day Spas, Minneapolis - USA), Paulo Persil (Persil Hair & Beauty, São Paulo) and Walter Cabral (Walter's Coiffeur, Rio de Janeiro) discussed the trends in the beautycare market, creativity, fashion, career challenges and new enterprises, as well as how they transformed their salons into highly successful businesses. The date for the Hair Brasil 2015 edition has already been set: it will take place from March 28 to 31 at the Expo Center Norte, São Paulo.
