HAIR BRASIL 2012 opens new business opportunities
in the Brazilian and Latin American beauty market
Brazil accounts for 10% of the world consumption of hair care and beauty care products and the fair
HAIR BRASIL has proved to be an efficient means to reach the distributors and big salons.
Next edition in March 2012, will feature over 800 exhibiting brands,
with an increasing international participation.
In March 2012, beauty, hair care and esthetics companies and professionals interested in doing business in
Brazil will have a great opportunity to meet with directors of the leading beauty salons, distributors and industry
professionals gathered together in a single event. The 11th edition of HAIR BRASIL - International Beauty,
Hair and Esthetics Fair, the most important event for launching new products, networking and professional
updating of hairdressers, estheticians and entrepreneurs of the beauty care sector, will be held from Saturday,
24 March, to Tuesday, 27 March, in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.
Acknowledged as the premier showcase of trends and innovations for the beauty market in Brazil and Latin
America, HAIR BRASIL 2012 will feature 80,000 m2 of exhibition area, bringing together more than 800 brand
suppliers.
80,000 visitors from Brazil and Latin America
In four days, the fair is expected to attract about 80,000 professional visitors from all over Brazil. HAIR BRASIL
has also proved to be very attractive to international visitors. At the 2011 edition the fair hosted visitors from 26
countries, with a strong Latin American participation. It is worth noting that the Latin American market
represents 17% of the world consumption of beauty care products. Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Peru
and Venezuela were the countries that stood out, although visitors also came from France, Italy, Spain, United
States, among others. Among foreign visitors, salon owners and hairdressers represented a 37% and
distributors / importers accounted for 25% of the attendance.
HAIR BRASIL has established itself as the most efficient fair to do business in Brazil, a country which now
occupies the third place in the world ranking of beauty care products and toiletries consumption, with sales
exceeding US$ 37 billion in 2010 and a growth of 30% over the previous year.
The international participation is growing
The expansion of the fair itself reflects very closely the expansion of the Brazilian market. The March 2012
edition of HAIR BRASIL will be 25% bigger than the previous one, in number of exhibitors and in occupied
area. Part of this expansion comes from the growing international presence. Companies from Argentina, Chile,
China, France, Italy, Korea, Pakistan, Peru, Spain, Turkey and the United States participated in the 2011
edition, but organizers are investing heavily in international promotion especially in Europe and in the United
States to attract new exhibitors.
Important partnerships have been established with international associations, chambers of commerce,
embassies, consulates and major trade fairs. "We are carrying out several actions in potential markets and we
have recorded a growing interest in large firms of beauty care products, because of the great phase of the
Brazilian economy and the consumption power of the population (190 million people) are strong appeals,"
states Jefferson Santos, director of HAIR BRASIL.
HAIR BRASIL 2012 will also expand its International Business Rounds, a project started in 2011. "We will
promote pre-scheduled business meetings between exhibitors, major buyers and distributors of beauty care
products, thus generating new sales opportunities and fostering creation of partnerships," says Katherine
Shibata, international business manager.
Professional Update
In addition to promoting business, HAIR BRASIL also features an active Forum for professional updating and
development, offering more than 100 simultaneous events that encompass workshops, seminars, congresses
and major trends and fashion shows, presented by prominent hairstylists of Brazil, Europe, USA and Latin
America. Each edition, about 11 thousand professionals from all the sectors of beauty care enroll in these
events.
