HRE 10I Grade Nine Religion~ Personal Life Map
Task: Using the symbols below, create a map of your life from birth to the present which illustrates you positive
(high) and challenging (low) points, new beginnings or transitions, obstacles and successes, death or other
losses, and experiences of God / faith .
Requirements: Check off the requirements as you complete your assignment! Your life map must include the
following components that span over your entire life (birth to the present):








Minimum of 9 different “items /points” on the map ( birth can be used but is not one of the 9 ).
Inclusion of the following things that you remember:
 3 significant people in your life (with a “P” beside each one)
 3 significant places in your life (with “PL” beside each one)
 3 significant events in your life (with an “E” beside each one)
A symbol to describe each person, place and event ( see below for the symbol key ).
A legend that describes each symbols meaning ( like on a map ).
A title ( for example … Joe’s Personal Faith Journey Life Map ).
Your name and age in chronological order like a timeline.
A short description for the 9 “items / points” on the map including how the event contributed to my
journey. It should be about 4-5 sentences in length for each event. This is to be completed on a
separate typed paper and submitted with the “map” itself. ( See “springboard “ question sheet for help).
Neatness, creativity, layout, space use, brightness and colour are all part of the communication level.
