The Windy City Classic Track & Field Relays is a highly competitive
Varsity meet with limited entries. Attendance of athletes selected for this
meet is mandatory. The failure of Northside athletes to attend this meet
will result in Northside not being invited back in 2010, even if we win the
meet. Last, ALL members of the Northside Track Team will be in the
meet on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Lake Forest Academy. Early
dismissals will be provided on Monday, April 20, 2009.
Friday, April 17, 2009 – Pre-Meet Banquet
A limited number of athletes (Eric Nelson, Cuitlahuac Pineda Youniss, Charlie
Mesimore, Wesley Laytham, Cooper Eben, Mac Melto, Martin Melto, Maria Torres,
Jennifer Kane, and Robin Doherty) have been invited as guests by the CPS to represent
Northside at a Pre-Meet Banquet at the Historic Parkway Ballroom, 4455 S. King Drive,
Chicago, Illinois 60653 with 1968 Olympic Long Jump Gold Medalist Bob Beamon,
two-time Olympian Mamie Rollins, and the visiting teams. The banquet will be a sit
down meal. The expected dress will be on the semi-formal side of casual. Practice will
start at 3:30 pm on Friday, April 17, 2009, and end at 4:15 pm on Friday. The Bus will
leave at 4:45 pm for the banquet. Northside Head Coach Jon Gordon, Assistant Coaches
Kwaku Attoh, Adrian Hunter, Jose Nebrida, and David Diaz will also be in attendance at
the banquet. The Banquet will last from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm. Thanks.

Windy City Relays. The remaining 4 athletes will serve as alternates, and have an 800m
Time Trial after the 4x200m relay against other schools, unless an athlete in another

On Thursday, June 4, 2009, the Northside Mens and Womens Track & Field Team will be
honored with a Team Dinner and Awards Banquet at HACKNEY'S, 1514 E. Lake Ave., Glenview,
Illinois 60025.
TEAM DINNER
All Athletes and/or guests will have a choice of the following at the banquet:
The Famous Hackneyburger
Since 1939, the Hackneyburger has been prepared in the same classic manner: the finest ground
beef, on their famous dark rye or bun, baked fresh every day in their own bakery with no
preservatives; cole slaw prepared from their own recipe, raw onions, and french fried potatoes.
Broiled Breast of Chicken Sandwich
Fresh boneless breast of chicken, broiled and served open-faced on a home-baked toasted bun,
with lettuce and tomato, french fries, and their own cole slaw.
Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad
Crisp romaine lettuce, shredded parmesan, homemade croutons, tossed with chicken breast
julienne, egg, and tomato.
Reuben Sandwich
Tender, thin-sliced cornes beef on grilled homemade Hackney's Dark Rye with swiss cheese,
sauerkraut and Thousand Island Dressing; served with their own Hackney's Cole Slaw, and
french-fried potatoes.
PLUS, unlimited beverages, Hackney's Original Fried Onions loafs and a choice of dessert.

BANQUET AWARDS
All of the Freshman Athletes will be awarded graduating class numerals. Sophomores and
Junior Varsity athletes will be awarded a medium size letter N. Varsity athletes will be
awarded a large size letter N. Athletes that have earned multiple letters will be given a
silver bar and a certificate to represent the number of years the athlete has participated
at the Varsity level.
To qualify for a Varsity letter, an athlete must have competed the season, and scored a
Varsity point in a Varsity Meet or compete in the IHSA State series. All uniforms must be
turned in prior to the banquet.

The 2009 Track & Field Banquet is 100% funded from the purchase of Banquet Tickets and
