Other activities: The department provides educational activity in the two Doctoral Schools of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Information technology. Besides these activities the Department has coordination tasks in the “Logistics Manager” European competence training accredited by the French CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers Paris) in Hungary and takes part in the FSZ (Accredited Higher Vocational Training) and OKJ (Nationwide Catalog of Training) trainings as well. The popularity of the logistics topic and subjects shows well that there are about 100 students who prepare successful diploma theses every year. Beside the internationally reputed theoretical education, modern laboratories provide the students with the possibility of knowing the different processes, technologies and devices applied in practice. These are the followings: 1. Automated logistics and identification laboratory 2. Integrated identification and logistics laboratory 3. Order picking and identification-technique lab Research activities: The Department of Materials Handling and Logistics has a wide range of research activities in the following fields: - design of materials handling machines, computer integrated logistics, information logistics, production and service logistics, warehouse logistics, stock management, quality assurance logistics, maintenance logistics, global logistics, supply and distribution systems, design and optimization of metal structures,
