MORPHOLOGY 2
2nd year – winter term
COURSE AIMS:
 to provide (and finish) an overview of morphology
 to introduce verbs and all the grammatical categories associated with this word class
 to help you understand better the typological differences between Czech and English
verbs
 to make you aware of the typical difficulties for learners so that you can avoid them
when teaching verbs
REQUIREMENTS:
This course is only for those students who have successfully finished the course Morphology
1 and have got the credit.
You have to be present in 70% of the seminars and complete all the tasks assigned.
At the end of this term you have the examination in morphology which will cover all the
topics (see the Morphology 1 and Morphology 2 syllabuses).
You are not allowed to take the examination unless you have the credit from Morphology 1
course and unless you reach 60 points (out of 100) for your homework tasks and the test in
Morphology 2 course.
The examination will be written and both theoretical and practical questions will be included.
In case you fail the examination, you can sit for a re-take which will be also written. If you
fail again, you will be examined orally.
