Splitboard Bindings, Evergreen CO July 2011 – Current
- Work with professional athletes and professional splitboard guides to design, prototype
and produce a novel splitboard binding.
- Responsible for writing and following through the patent process. Currently in the
application process with a publication number of: US 20140091557 A1
- Create manufacturing drawings and work with manufacturing companies to produce
bindings.
- Manage all aspects of running a small business from engineering to sales.
Mechanical/Thermal Engineer, Paragon SDC, Lakewood CO Jan 2007 – Current
- Responsible for Orion Thermal Analysis team’s Day of Launch support for the first test
flight (EFT1) and various testing in preparation for the first test flight.
- Supported the final build and assembly of the EFT1 crew module at Kennedy Space
Center, specifically supported the build of the thermal control hardware for the
propulsion subsystem.
- Primary responsibility to perform thermal analysis under Lockheed Martin’s direction
for the NASA Orion human space flight program. Use of Thermal Desktop ® as primary
tool to perform spacecraft system and component level thermal analysis. Documented
work through detailed technical memos, and presented results at technical interchange

meetings. Major items analyzed: Active Thermal Control System, Service Module
radiators, vehicle performance under failure conditions and vehicle ascent performance.
- Responsible for coordinating Paragon’s contract with Lockheed Martin to provide
thermal analysis under Lockheed Martin’s direction. Responsibilities included managing
Paragon thermal analysis team, writing contractual bases of estimates and negotiating
support issues with Lockheed Martin’s thermal lead.
Mechanical Engineer, Peerless Pump, Lubbock TX Oct 2005 – April 2007
- Established and managed the test facility in Lubbock TX. Responsible for selecting and
designing test equipment for the Lubbock facility. Project manager and design engineer
for the modernization of the test facility (half million dollar budget) at the company’s
headquarters in Indianapolis, IN.
- Interfaced to the company’s SQL database with LabVIEW and Excel in order to
automate testing, reduce test time, improve test accuracy and reduce retests.
- Provided hydraulic engineering support for vertical and horizontal pumps upon
reviewing test results. Determined appropriate action for correcting pump performance.

- Setup test facility and performed preliminary testing, development and evaluation of a
novel flow-metering device using LabVIEW and Excel. Work performed became the
foundation for the production flow meters.

- Experimental wind tunnel testing of a new helicopter intake (master thesis). This work

- Automated the water temperature control system for a graduate study of endangered
native fish.
- During this time I personally trained and managed six undergraduates.

- Semi-automated a laboratory test apparatus for determining the interfacial resistance of
various materials. This was funded and developed for Compaq Computers.
- Assisted a postdoctoral associate in the design, fabrication and assembly of an
experimental representation of a low-pressure gas turbine blade. This work was funded
by Honeywell Engines and Systems, Phoenix AZ
Mechanical Engineer Intern, Helicopter Component Design Group, Honeywell

- Worked with a team of mechanical design engineers. Utilized ANSYS 5.6 to conduct
thermal and structural analyses of critical components in a helicopter gas turbine.

- Engineer: Assisted in the design and production of a non-woven textile spreading

textile spreading system that was linked to a parts database that I created.
- Welder/Fabricator: Constructed parts using welder, cutting torch, hydraulic punch, etc.
- Mechanic: Repaired mining and cement processing equipment on site and in the shop.
