Small-medium scale ideas Carton squashing competition: who can fit the most cartons into a barrel in two minutes? Ask the supermarket where you are holding a roadshow event if it is okay to move the bring bank either to the front door of the store or right next to the roadshow to showcase the new carton recycling facilities Puppet/craft cartons: at your upcoming events, hold a teach-in for local school children on how to make puppets/crafts out of your used cartons. The best ones can be sent through to Tetra Pak for them to put on their website Encourage your office to add a sentence to your email signature saying We’re wasting less by squashing and recycling cartons Large scale ideas Link up with a local café/convenience store selling cartons to run a joint promotion on recycling cartons Contact large local businesses, encourage them to set up carton recycling in their office and do a press event relating to them starting or the number of cartons recycled Gather some of the collected cartons and ask a local artist to make a sculpture out of them Find a local business/group of businesses that regularly sponsors local charities and ask them if they will give 1p to the local charity/school for every carton collected in their nearest bin (or taken to a specified location) Specifically for areas collecting kerbside: run a competition encouraging people to recycle their cartons in their box.
