that specifically adhere to the tumor cells and inhibit their ability
to grow. We will focus on the types, and their mechanism of
action. We will discuss the applications and review success and

IHC Markers in the
Pathology Lab Today

This presentation will address IHC markers and how
they are used in pathologic diagnosis. A brief
background, a synopsis of the chemistry involved,
and the evolution of panels will be included.
Attention will be given to the proper receipt and
handling of specimens in the gross room to ensure
optimal IHC staining. Examples of how specific
panels are use to type very grave and difficult cases
will be discussed.

The Mid-Atlantic Pathologists’ Assistants (MAPA) Educational
Conference is accredited by ASCLS PACE to provide continuing
medical education for pathologists’ assistants.
Designation of Credit
MAPA designates this educational activity for a maximum of 8
certification maintenance program credits. Attendees should only
claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the
activity.

by MAPA, we will refund registration fees, but are not responsible for

participant must cancel his/her course registration, he or she may receive
a refund if written notification is sent by May 15. Refunds will not be
processed after this date. All refunds are subject to a $25.00 cancellation
