The participant will understand the pathophysiology of TRALI as well as mitigation strategies to prevent this transfusion-related complication. The audience will learn of recent advances in red blood cell utilization with emphasis on the evidence-based literature. The learner will be able to distinguish the pediatric pattern of steatohepatitis from the adult pattern. The audience will be able to differentiate factors complicating the interpretation of fatty liver disease The learner will identify features that would suggest fatty liver disease as the origin of otherwise cryptogenic cirrhosis.
