labeled, illegible, careless, late homework will receive a √-. Written homework assignments must be
accomplished independently. Please see Honor Code in Student Planner
In addition, students may provide a “homework portfolio” of FOUR completely corrected homework
assignments in individual homework portfolio folders. Only completely corrected homework
(contrasting color is expected here) with a flawless heading will earn credit in the portfolio. We may go
over homework in class or students may use google docs answer key to correct. This will count as a double
homework grade.
Class participation will be evaluated with the √ system. As long as a student makes an effort, has a positive
attitude, is prepared18 , is consistently on task, and respects his or her colleagues, each day he or she will
earn a check, i.e., 100% for class participation. If, however, the student does not meet all these
requirements, he or she will earn a zero.
Graded Quizzes and tests will be graded in a conventional way, i.e., the number right divided by the number
of possibilities for a correct response.
The creative project will be graded on accuracy and creativity; an excellent presentation may raise this
grade but in no case will the presentation lower the project grade. Rubrics will be provided. Oral projects
will be graded on accuracy and expression and effort. The whole class google doc derivative project will be
graded on accuracy and whole class participation.
