THE CITY UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK CAREER OPPORTUNITY City College Title Location/Department Compensation College Web Site Closing Date Part Time Head Men’s Volleyball Coach Student Affairs / Athletic Department $5,000 - $7,500 www.ccnyathletics.com Open until filled with review of resumes to begin Immediately POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Men’s Volleyball Coach will administer and direct all aspects of the City College of New York Men's Volleyball program in accordance with the college, NCAA and CUNYAC by-laws and guidelines. Responsibilities include but are not limited to coaching and the development of a highly competitive Division III Program consistent with the goals and philosophies of the Athletic Department at CCNY. The Head Coach will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of quality scholar-athletes with high academic standards and skill sets, monitor the academic progress of student-athletes to facilitate pursuit of a degree, supervise all game, scrimmage and practice activities, as well as team travel; scout opponents, and design game plans and strategies. Other responsibilities include to implement disciplinary actions fairly and in accordance with team rules, as well as, CCNY and CUNYAC regulations, fundraising activities, soliciting and encouraging contributions to, and support for, the intercollegiate program, and foster good relations with fans, donors and the local community. The head coach is a key member of the CCNY Athletic Department and thus is expected to participate in department-wide initiatives, fundraisers and special events and summer camps and clinics. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. The candidate must demonstrate two or more years of successful volleyball coaching and recruiting experience in the collegiate level; excellent leadership skills, dynamic interpersonal communication skills; strong mentoring ability and, be able to support the mission of the College. The head coach is accountable for modeling a professional demeanor as appropriate to higher education and CCNY Athletics.
