DC Report
Thanks again to the Junior Committee, especially Tamara for taking on the Jumping Day. Huon riders were seen
throughout the day with big smiles and I think many achieved a PB. I was not ejected from the canteen and no reports of
food poisoning have been received, so all is good.(Maree has me in training).
Thanks for all the help I received at the Royal doing our Handy Pony thing, it made my life easier and I quite enjoyed the
Royal which makes a change as it is usually too stressful and not enough fun. Our Junior Games team were stars,
Tamara Jacobson and Hailey Jacobson took home "Champion" ribbons and Joe McGrath and Phill brought home a
ribbon or two from the Showjumping ring.
Those of you that came to the Rodeo, I'm sure had a great time, well done to Freya and Joe who didn’t mind getting a bit
dirty for their 8 seconds of stardom- or was it 3. This looks like being a major fundraising effort for the club. The Dads did
us proud in canteen and it certainly paid off ($). The only downside is that the menu will be steak sandwiches at the next
few rallys, but I'm sure we'll cope with that.
More BIG news is that the sand is being delivered to our arena TODAY. We will still need to organise the spreading but
hopefully next rally we can be riding on it. It might pay to bring along a rake and shovel to the next rally just in case. How
was this paid for? Ask Trici Hankin; her new title should be Chief Executive In Charge of All Things to do with Money. She
is a bit of a super woman as I have also heard a rumour that she is staying up very late at night working on a secret
project to be revealed in the not too distant future.
The March rally has been moved to the 16th March to accommodate the PC Horse Trials Championships being held over
8th, 9th &10th March at the Huntingfield grounds. While we only have one rider competing (Joe McGrath), we have
needed to provide jump stewards and dressage pencillers and Leanne Brennan and I have been on the Committee
organising this event for the last 8 months, so many of us will not be available that weekend. Two cross country jumps
that Huon has purchased, will be utilised and then will be brought back to our grounds at the end of March for us to use
(they are portable). It should be a great chance to watch some Grade 1, 2 and 3 Dressage on the Saturday (starts at
9am), Cross country on the Sunday (starts at 10am) and the Showjumping will be on the Monday. If you would like to
come along and cheer Joe and Phill on, their dressage is on at 11am (actually that might be best missed), and cross
country at 12.50.
Make the most of this wonderful weather and get on and ride, soon you will be saying its too cold/ too wet/ horse is too
muddy/ its too dark. See you all soon
Leah.

HAVE YOU SEEN JESSIE
Hoping someone out there might know where this pony is. We would love to
know how he’s going and maybe even if his owner might be interested in selling
him?
We are in Victoria and we free-leased him some years ago now. He was later sold
to Tasmania and then sold on to another family in 2004, possibly to the Kingston
or Sandfly area? He may have attended a local pony club in that area?
He is 12.2hh, liver chestnut, with a flaxen mane and tail. His registered name is
Graylea Jessie James.
The photo of Jessie was taken about 10 years ago, and he would now be 14 or 15
years old, so his coat colour may have changed a little!
If you can help, can you please call me (Jenny) on my mobile (0412 652 858) or
send me a text message with your number, and I will call you back so that the
call doesn’t cost you?
Hope someone out there can help us!
