Placement Outline
Edinburgh Printmakers is looking for a dynamic and motivated intern to assist with the running of its
busy gallery spaces and front of house reception. Our free admission galleries adjoin our openaccess fine-art printmaking studio and so you will be dealing with a wide range of people from our
members and education course participants, to print buyers and exhibiting artists.
You will gain a solid understanding of the contemporary arts market, fine art printmaking practice as
well as the workings of a public sector arts organisation. You will be involved in the co-ordination and
running of our gallery events programme, as well as assisting with core and project-based activities.
There is an administrative element to this role, however as a small, but very active, organisation, your
days are guaranteed to be varied and full!
Hours
15 Hours per week. Some flexibility with hours may be negotiated with both parties. Occasional
evening and weekend work is necessary. The placement will be for a minimum of 6 months.

 Knowledge and understanding of gallery administration and stock management.

Skills





IT: Word, Excel, Photoshop, Entourage, Googledocs, Cybertill
Installation: preparation of walls; setting lights; installing vinyl; title labels; hanging of works.
Printmaking techniques.
Handling of unframed and framed art works.
Framing prints.
