Abstract: Plastic is any synthetic or semi-synthetic organic polymer. Plastics play an
important part in our life. It is used in several applications like automobile/Car parts, soft
drink bottles to be refrigerators and in many household and indusrial applications.
Plastics help make our life easier and better. Plastics have the unique capability to be
manufactured to meet very specific functional needs for consumers.
On other hand plastics take a long time to breakdown. Even plastics that date from
early 20th century still exist to a large extent. Plastic is not biodegradable. It means that it
does not decay. We can approximate that plastic takes over seven hundred years to
disintegrate. Therefore use of plastic is dangerous for environment.
