COURT USAGE DURING MATCH SEASON (APRIL 21st – JUNE 26)
In this period of very heavy demands on the courts, we propose to re-instate
the following rules to ensure fair court usage for all:
A. The following periods are “OPEN TIME”:
Weekdays
- until 6.30pm
Saturdays
- until 1.00pm
Sundays
- until 10.00pm
This means that adults and juniors have equal priority on any courts not
booked for club sessions, and must abide by the “30-minute” rule.
(After 6.30pm weekdays, adults have priority)
“30 MINUTE” RULE
When all the courts are full, and members are waiting to play, players may
play for a further 30 minutes only.
If you find all the courts in use you should:
1. Find out if any courts are in use for club sessions.
2. See if it is possible to double up for doubles play.
3. Find out who has been playing longest.
4. Inform those players that you wish to play.
5. Wait a maximum of 30 minutes for the court to become available.
B. CLUB SESSIONS
1. Senior matches: courts 1,2,3 - from 6pm to 10pm Monday to Thursday
2. Junior matches: courts 1,2,3 - from 4pm to 7pm Saturday and Sunday
(check website / print out for slight variations)

4. Adult social tennis: courts 2,3,4,5 – from 1pm to 4pm Saturday
5. Junior social tennis: court 1 – from 1pm to 4pm Saturday
6. Family tennis [parent(s) with child(ren)] courts 1,2,3 – from 2pm to 4pm
Sunday
7. Adult social tennis: up to 3 courts from 10am to 12 noon Tuesday and
Thursday
C. SENIOR BOX LEAGUES
These have NO PRIORITY if any courts are in use for CLUB SESSIONS.
At other times 1 box league match may be played to completion, but if one
court is already being used in this way, others wishing to play box league
matches must observe the “30-minute” rule i.e. they may play for 30 minutes,
but must then stop if others are waiting. This is to prevent more than 1 court
being occupied for long periods when people are waiting to play.
D. JUNIOR BOX LEAGUES
Junior box league matches have priority on 2 courts only from 4pm to 6.30pm
weekdays. Play must finish at 6.30pm if adults are waiting.
