Opposition on another
student’s degree work
To pass your degree project work, you also have to act as an opponent on another
student’s degree work. Your task as an opponent is to:
•
critically read and examine the report you have been assigned
•
especially consider the presentation of the problem, choice of methods and the
interpretation/analysis of the results
•
note language and other minor errors and things that are difficult to understand or
are questionable in the report
•
in a constructive way criticize the report at the presentation, and in a dialogue with
the thesis student have a fruitful academic discussion
Use the opposition protocol below, which has to be answered in advance and handed to the
examiner after the presentation. Try to answer the questions in the protocol in detail.
Answers like Yes or No are not sufficient.
