The 7th International Conference on GeoComputation University of Southampton, 8-10 September 2003 Call for papers for special session: Socioeconomic modelling and urban simulation GeoComputation 2003 is the 7th in a series of successful international meetings that are concerned with solving geographical problems through computers. Full details of the conference are available from the conference home page at: http://www.geog.soton.ac.uk/users/geocomp/default.asp A full session entitled: socio-economic modelling and urban simulation has been planed. We welcome contributions to the topics of dynamic modelling and urban simulation, in particular cellular automata and the application of simulation models. Potential topics may include: Urban cellular automata models Application of dynamic models and socio-economic analysis Land development simulation Multi-agent simulation Heuristic models Application of GIS in urban change analysis Analytical tools for urban simulation It is anticipated that papers selected from the session will be published jointly with the session in ‘spatial distributed modelling of land surface processes’ (physical geography oriented modelling) in a refereed volume. Please send abstracts for this special session to: Dr. Fulong Wu (F.Wu@soton.ac.uk), School of Geography, University of Southampton, Southampton, SO17 1BJ United Kingdom, before 1 March 2003.
