Wire mesh with cardboard:
Cheap and easy to make. Drive four stakes into the ground and staple some chicken
wire to them. Make it easy to gain access on one of the sides. Line with cardboard and
top with an old square piece of carpet to hold in the heat.
Old Dustbin:
Cut the bottom out of an old plastic dustbin. Turn it upside down and replace the lid.
Sectional Wooden Bin:
Sections are stacked up or removed as required. The individual sections can be made
out of different widths of timber i.e. Wood pallets. Easily to move.
Double New Zealand Bin:
Two strong wooden boxes with removable slatted fronts. Fill one bin with compost
and when full turn the contents into the second bin to allow in air pockets.
Breeze blocks with wooden
slatted front:
A sturdy bin can be built out of
breeze blocks. A wooden front can
be added that can be removed easily
to access the compost.
Purchased bins:
There is a good selection of plastic
bins available through the Local
Council.
Garden Centres also stock a wide
choice
