Family Search shows two wives, Harriett Buckland and an Elizabeth Gentle.
1819 witnessed a wedding “Job Nichols md Keziah 1819, both sojourners of Tadmarden. Brother
Wisdom acted as witness.

(Journal of Gypsy Lore apparently states Wisdom had a son John who Married Nanny Biles. Nanny
Smith died at Worcester in 1908 aged 108.1 they had daughter Rizzavoy bp 4 9 1830 Wigginton, who
married Tom Fletcher. And son Nathan bp 1/5/1836 at Tadmarden, Wisdom a traveller. It further states
that Nanny’s father in law Wisdom had 2 half brothers, one Arkles (Old Arti) who settled at
Tadmarton, and the other Tom at Headington. 2
“Her father in law (Nanny), Wisdom, who was a son of a Jasper Smith, had two brothers (or
two half brothers as his father had two wives and I do not know which was his mother )
Arkless “Old Arti” who settled with some of his family at Tadmarton, and Tom, who founded
the Gypsy Colony at Headington, who had already been there for some 15 years when
Groome discovered it as an undergraduate in 1872.. and both of these were reputed
centenarians.”
