MARTHA'S REGIONAL HOSPITAL SITE, ANTIGONISH, NOVA SCOTIA QUALIFICATIONS: - Registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia BLS - C (current) Current certification in CPI or willingness to obtain Good work record; ability to work as member of the health care team Computer literacy preferred Competence in rhythm strip interpretation, defibrillation and code blue response DEMONSTRATED: - Competence in ICU and Emergency patient care skills Commitment to the philosophy of family centred care nursing Demonstrated proficiency in communication and interpersonal skill Demonstrated skills in organization and priority-setting Demonstrated knowledge of GASHA’s involvement with the “Safer Health Care Now Campaign” Ability to work in a self-directed environment and also effectively within an interdisciplinary team Demonstrates professional judgement and accountability when delegating or assigning patient care to RN’s or LPN’s Proven clinical knowledge and the ability to use sound professional judgement Demonstrated commitment to self-learning and continuous professional development Physical ability to perform duties of the position Utilization of nursing process Team leading skills Good work record REQUIREMENT: - UNION: This is a NSNU unionized position NOTE: The successful applicant will have a commitment to the mission and values of St. Martha’s Regional Hospital and the Guysborough Antigonish Strait Health Authority.
