THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF BRANT POSITION: DEPARTMENT: REPORTS TO: LOCATION: Director of Infrastructure Services Operations General Manager of Operations Initial placement - Burford Administration Office Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Engineering, licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, or eligible to receive license in 6 months. 7 years of experience at a senior level Superior leadership skills including but not limited to communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills Superior collaborative abilities, demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, negotiate Superior tact and diplomacy skills, demonstrated ability to facilitate communication with a broad spectrum of stakeholders including but not limited to elected officials, public, government agencies and all team members Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and earn the confidence/trust of stakeholders Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, with conflicting priorities in a fast paced, demanding environment, to see the “big picture” Demonstrated ability to provide exemplary customer service Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety and Regulatory Compliance Ability to travel, meet deadlines, work a flexible schedule, respond to emergency situations Assets: Municipal experience at a senior level Background in Finance Background in development engineering, managing capital works and overseeing municipal infrastructure Duties: Reporting to the GM, the Director is responsible to lead, co-ordinate, implement and administer the services and programs of the Division, working collaboratively with other Directors and Team Members. As a creative and strategic thinker, you will be a resource and provide advice to others and develop innovative solutions to complex problems Supervision of various sections (Capital Works, Capital Projects, Solid Waste/Wastewater Operations, Technical Services, and Bridges) Project Management o Responsible for all aspects of project management (project identification, budget creation/administration, budget approval, preliminary design, detailed design, approvals, contract preparation, award and administration) Staff Management/Mentoring o Assignment of work and staffing matters Engineering Analysis and Review o Provide Public Works reviews of development applications (subdivision, site plan, zoning, severances, etc.) o Detailed design of engineering projects o Review of Engineering submissions o Class Environmental Assessments o Contract Review To prepare and present reports for the consideration of Committees and Council Analyze new standards and prepare course of action for implementation Preparation, coordination and implementation of the Infrastructure Services Division operating and capital budget Assist with the development of special and capital budget programs Emergency Preparedness/Contingency Planning Other duties as assigned Annual Salary Range – $92,511 – $117,062 - (Job Grade 12) 35 hours per week Please visit careers.brant.ca to apply for this job opportunity.
