Weather Summary for the period since the issue of last bulletin 003
(08.01.2016) for Tamil Nadu.
Maximum temperature from 29oC to 31oC and minimum temperature range
from 17oC to 23oC did prevail over the State. Kodaikanal and Uthagamandalam
recorded maximum temperature from 16oC to 20oC and minimum temperature range
was from 6oC to 11oC during the period. Dry weather was recorded in Tamil Nadu.

According to district forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department
for Tiruppur district, sky will be partly cloudy. Dry weather is expected. Maximum
temperature is expected to be around 30°C and minimum temperature is expected to
be around 19°C. Morning relative humidity is expected to be around 82 per cent and

Agro Advisory
 Sorghum, groundnut and pulses under dry land may be harvested considering
the non-rainy days anticipated in the forthcoming five days. After the harvest
of dry land crops disc/tiller may be used to plough the land immediately so as
to control weeds and also to make the soil friable to conserve summer
monsoon rain.
 To increase setting percentage in rice under prevailing cold temperature,
spray 2% DAP to rice which is around in flowering
 Under prevailing weather conditions planning may done to plant early season
sugarcane as earliest possible before Pongal in order to harvest higher
productivity
 Due to non-receipt of rain for the past 20 days, spray PPFM @ 200ml/ acre in
200 litres of water to maintain greenness of the crops
 Due to high relative humidity and low minimum temperature, sooty mould
diseases may occur in mango. Spray phosphamidon @ 2ml/ litre + 5% maida
 Due to low temperature animal may avoid intake of water. Keep watching and
provide adequate amount of good drinking water.
