professional practice, and explicitly informs how science informs practice and how practice informs
science. “Research in clinical practice” hours may include: special case conferences, previewing clinical videos, special clinical
presentations, observation of a clinical session, training in empirically-based treatments and structured interview techniques, etc.
13. Please list/describe the three hours of activities which most clearly fulfill the "scientist-practitioner"
requirement. These hours should be spent in activities that enhance understanding of the interface
between science, theory, and practice. “Scientist-practitioner” hours may include: professional development seminars on a
scientist-practitioner topic; scientist-practitioner presentations in the department, university, or other sites, including some of the Friday
presentations in the Center for the Study of Family Violence and Sexual assault, and some of the child clinical and developmental brown
bags; etc.
14. Please describe the three hours of activities which most clearly fulfill the "clinical research"
requirement. Three of these hours should be spent in activities that enhance capacities to contribute to
knowledge and skills in the profession. “Clinical research” hours may include: professional development seminars on a
research topic; research presentations in the department, including faculty research presentations to first year students, lab meetings in your
advisor’s research lab, some of the Friday presentations in the Center for the Study of Family Violence and Sexual assault, and some of the
child clinical and developmental brown bags; etc.
15. Please describe the two activities which most clearly fulfill the "diversity experiential training"
requirement. These distinct activities should be ones that enhance understanding of diversity issues in
clinical psychology practice and research. "Diversity experiential training" hours may include (but will not be limited to):
group screening and discussion of movies, university-sponsored cultural events, performances, and lectures.
