IF YOU NEED TO EVACUATE: You will be notified by an Evacuation Team member at your door or a Reverse 911 call. You will be directed to the nearest evacuation center. Obey the directions of law enforcement and fire officers and drive carefully. Try to remain calm and follow instructions of all emergency personnel. Keep your vehicle fuel tank full if a fire is approaching your area. Keys in car or by door. BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME: Turn on house interior lights. Close heavy draperies. Remove lace-type draperies. Close windows and doors. Leave driveway gates OPEN. Gather your important papers, financial documents, medications and anything you may need if you cannot return home for several days. Put your Evacuation Kit in your vehicle along with small pets. Transport large animals to the Large Animal Evacuation Site as directed by law enforcement officers.
