Osnovna šola DUTOVLJE 28. 05. 2011 Antona Šibleja-Stjenka Komen Elementary School and Dutovlje Elementary School in co-operation with The Fine Arts Teachers' Society of the Primorje Region is organizing the 5th International Biennial Art Contest titled »On Fabiani's path« Students from all elementary and secondary schools in Slovenia and abroad are invited to participate sending an art work in the area of Spatial and Architectural Design. The art work can be represented in many forms such as drawings, paintings, prints, models or photographs. The competition is divided into three categories: 1. PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST: »Max Fabiani, Creator of Space«. Pupils and students who live near Max Fabiani's works are to look for and learn to recognize his work: buildings, squares, urban solutions. Then they are to be represented through the photographic lens. 2. ART CONTEST UNDER THE THEME: “REMODELLING AN AREA OF AN URBAN SPACE - My Place, Our Common Space«. Pupils and students are to critically assess their own urban surroundings and suggest solutions by transforming their actual space. Ideas may be represented through the aid of the computer, photographs or other art media and techniques. By transforming and remodelling their area they may include new and different kinds of buildings, erase or redesign actual buildings, change colours, etc. Such changes may occur as long as historical and/or cultural heritage is considered and/or historical buildings are respected. 3. ART CONTEST UNDER THE THEME SPATIAL DESIGN: »Architect of My Own Space«. Pupils and students may solve any artistic task designing an architectonic object on a chosen theme or motif. This art work may be 2-dimensional (drawings, paintings, prints, photographs) or 3-dimentional (models). It is desirable that art works are delivered in original form. In case of larger pieces that cannot be carried or sent you can send the photographs of them. Each piece of work must include the following data: pupil's or student's name, surname, age, grade, title of art work, assigned task, his/her art teacher's name and surname, teacher's e-mail and name and address of the school. Each school may send up to 10 pieces. There is no restriction on the dimensions of the art works. All those who decide to participate should agree that if their work is awarded they will permit their work to be exhibited and published in a catalogue as well as mentioned in the exhibition's web page. Pieces may be sent up to June 1st, 2012 to the following address: Društvo likovnih pedagogov Primorja, Štanjel 24, 6222 Štanjel, SLOVENIA - „On Fabiani’s path” After June 1st, pieces will be reviewed and judged by a committee made up of art teachers and a representative of the Faculty of Education, department of Art Education. Awards will be given to three (3) collections of art works (all the works from a school) and to ten (10) individual pieces. Pupils and students whose pieces will be exhibited and their mentors (art teachers) receive their awards at the opening of the exhibition, which will take place at Štanjel Castle in the fall of 2012. The Art Teachers' Society will have the catalogue available at the exhibition and all those involved will receive one.
