become more involved with the management, nutrition and
showing of Cattle. The competition is open to boys and girls who
have reached the age of 10 years and have not reached the age of

JUDGING AT 11.30 A.M.
All Classes in Young Stockperson will commence at the same
time. Entrants can only participate in one class.
Entry Fee €5 (Stockperson only)
This Class will be judged within two age groups.
Class 54. – JUNIOR Trophy donated by Michael Flatley &

Entrants must be over 10 and under 14 on 1/1/15. Age to be
shown on entry form. Proof of date of birth will be required
on show day.
Class 55 – SENIOR Trophy donated by James Dockery &
Family.
Entrants must be over 14 and under 18 on 01/01/15. Age to be
shown on entry form. Proof of date of birth will be required
on show day.
The entrants can exhibit any Pedigree Registered Shorthorn
animal born on or after 01/01/2014. .

Each entrant will be judged under three categories –
1. Grooming and presentation of animal on show day
2. Showmanship and handling skills in the show ring
3. General Knowledge questions on animal husbandry,
the animal being shown and the Shorthorn breed.

The Munster Branch are running their annual Junior Male
and Female of the Year competition at Limerick Show for

The Junior Classes used for the competition

Senior classes used for the competition are “Cattle
born before 1st July2014.” The classes are based on a
points system where first gets three points, second
gets two points and third get one point. The five
Shows involved are Charleville, Cappamore,
Bridgetown, Nenagh and Limerick.

The purpose of this competition is to reward pedigree Limousin animals
and their owners for their promotion of the breed
throughout the summer show season.
There are three categories for which animals are eligible based on their
date of birth. The animal gaining the highest points
across the three categories will be awarded the title of
R.D.S. Champion of Champions.

(a) Male of the Year – for male animals born after 1st
September 2013.
(b) Senior Female of the Year – for females born before
1st September 2013.
(c) Junior Female of the Year – for females born on or
after 1st September 2013
(d) The R.D.S. Champion of Champions will be the
animal gaining the most points in sections a-c

THE 2015 ALL IRELAND NONPEDIGREE CALF CHAMPIONSHIP
Rules and conditions:
1. This competition is open to non – pedigree male and
female calves.
2. Weight restriction for final: Males not to exceed 410
kgs; Females not to exceed 360 kgs. A weighing scales
will be provided on the day to weigh the calves.
3. No restriction on number of entries per person.
4. Calves are not eligible for entry in other classes in the
show except for the suckling cow class.
