Dr Alex Henderson. Alex is currently employed as a Clinical Research Fellow, University of Newcastle. He is engaged upon a project jointly supervised by PEALS entitled “An Exploration of philosophical problems involved in paediatric research proposals using new genetic technologies.” In this project he is attempting to identify ethical decision making protocol for doctors and scientist in preparation clinical trials of this kind these trials. His educational background includes: Philosophy BA(Hons) MA Jesus College Cambridge 1988-91. Medicine MB BChir (with distinction) Cambridge 1999. Medical jobs (paediatrics, medicine, surgery) in East Anglia and London 19992003. Post graduate qualification: MRCPCH Clinical Genetics registrar Newcastle 2003-4. Other things: teaching (previous teacher of English to speakers of other languages in Prague, teaching of medical students, and junior doctors preparing for postgraduate exams, examiner for Royal College of Physicians, instructor for Advanced Paediatric Life Support Courses).
