SUBJECT: International Maritime Conventions and Other Instruments Adopted by the

Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Reference: Maritime Regulation 2.11.1

PURPOSE:

In accordance with the publication requirements of the Republic’s Maritime Regulation

2.11.1, this Marine Notice provides a list of the International Maritime Conventions, Protocols and other instruments adopted by the Republic of the Marshall Islands. This Notice supersedes Rev.

8/06.

APPLICABILITY:

It is the responsibility of Owners and Masters to ensure that their vessels are in compliance

I with the applicable requirements of these International Conventions and Agreements. It shall also be the responsibility of Marshall Islands Recognized Organizations to effectively oversee Owner,

Master and vessel compliance with the applicable instruments for which they have been given authority under written agreement.

IMO Instruments for which the Marshall Islands is a Contracting State

Compliance with the terms of the conventions, including all of the amendments that have entered into force, is required for vessels registered in the Marshall Islands. The scope of compliance includes any IMO Resolutions or Codes that are specified as mandatory in the convention.
